Why Choose Dr. Brian D. Barnett and Dallas IVF for Your Treatment?

  • Dr. Brian D. Barnett is board certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and has demonstrated excellence in fertility treatments in Dallas since 1997.
  • One doctor will manage your care . Your treatment plan will be made and managed by Dr. Barnett. At Dallas IVF you will not be managed by a group of fertility doctors or nurses who have no idea who you are. Dr. Barnett performs all of his own egg retrievals and transfers. He also performs all his own inseminations for artificial insemination.
  • Individualized treatment plans . In many large practices, fertility doctors often prescribe similar treatment plans to all their patients, which are then carried out by nurses. At some programs, the nurses actually create your treatment plan. Because Doctor Barnett is managing your care, it will be individualized and modified by him if necessary.
  • Outstanding pregnancy rates . Physicians have varying degrees of training and experience and thus pregnancy rates can vary from physician to physician. Our pregnancy rates have consistently been excellent. The in vitro fertilization (IVF) pregnancy rates we report to the government are accurate and a reflection of the skill we have with other treatments.
  • Internationally renowned IVF/ART laboratory . The assisted reproductive technology (ART) laboratory in which a woman has her IVF cycle performed is extremely critical. If IVF is required to help you conceive, you will have access to the Presbyterian Hospital ART laboratory and staff. The Presbyterian Hospital ARTS Program is the largest IVF program in the Southwest United States and is recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in the field. Among the many awards our practice has received, the August 2005 issue of Child magazine recognized the Presbyterian Hospital ARTS program as one of the “Top 10 Fertility Centers” in the country.
  • Convenience . If IVF is required, your retrieval and transfer will be done at Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. Dr. Barnett’s practice is located in a professional building attached to the hospital. The Presbyterian Hospital ARTS Program laboratory in Plano is the ONLY full-service IVF/ART laboratory located in Collin County. Some of the other infertility practices in Collin County simply serve as satellites for offices or laboratories that are not even located within the area. Prior to moving to Plano in 1997, Dr. Barnett was on faculty at Duke University Medical Center and was instrumental in the success of its in vitro fertilization program.

What Is a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Subspecialist?

A reproductive endocrinology and infertility subspecialist is an OB/GYN who has completed formal advanced training beyond that of his OB/GYN residency in either a two or three-year fellowship. After Dr. Barnett completed his four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology, he completed a three-year fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Any OB/GYN can list himself as a ‘fertility specialist,’ but only a Reproductive Endocrinologist has completed formal training at a recognized program, which has met specific criteria by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Barnett is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and in the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

To become board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, a physician has to complete his or her fellowship, then pass a written and oral examination. It is not uncommon for a general OB/GYN to initiate an infertility workup and then refer the patient to a reproductive endocrinology and infertility subspecialist; Dr. Barnett is fortunate to practice in a community where there are many excellent general OB/GYN physicians who can initiate basic workups and refer patients to Dallas IVF. Of the many fertility doctors within the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, Dr. Barnett is the only board certified reproductive endocrinologist with a full-time office on the campus of Presbyterian Hospital of Plano.
