Gonadotropins Therapy
Gonadotropins are injectable fertility medications that contain follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and/or luteinizing hormone (LH). The most commonly prescribed gonadotropins at Dallas IVF are Follistim®, Gonal F®, Menopur® and Repronex®. Gonadotropins allow women undergoing IVF or superovulation to stimulate the development of multiple follicles. During gonadotropins therapy, serum estradiol and transvaginal ultrasounds will be obtained on a regular basis to asses your progress during the IVF or superovulation cycle. Risks associated with gonadotropin therapy include multiples and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
